Introduction
Elementary Eudcation Foundation (EEF) was established under "The North West Frontier Province Elementary Education Foundation Ordinance 2002"/ Act 2004. It started operating in 2003-04. It is a body-corporate. The management has been vested in the Board of Directors which is headed by the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There are five official and five co-opted members from the civil society.
Elementary Education Foundation is headed by Managing Director who is member cum Secretary of the Board of Directors.

To promote social, functional literacy and post literacy.
